About Mondo
Mondo is all about enthusiasts. Our vision is to create the ultimate enthusiast community network on the web. As fellow enthusiasts, we had been looking for communities that we'd like to join to share our passion with likeminded people, and frankly, there weren't many good places to go. The places that were available had limited content, difficult to find information, and were just plain boring. So, we decided to do something about it. We created Mondo Brands to be the parent company for a network of enthusiast communities ranging from exotic automobiles to fine watches and from consumer technology to wine collecting.
Our communities are called "spots" because we believe they are different than the simple forums that many enthusiast sites employ today. What makes our communities unique? For starters, we think that a true community has to offer more than forums. It must offer a complete enthusiast experience. Our spots greet you with a portal that gives you a quick-glimpse update on what's new. Inside the community you will find up-to-the-minute news, in-depth reviews, interesting articles, dynamic event calendars, photo and video galleries, large reference libraries, market price indexes, classifieds, auctions, stores and more. Yes, forums are an important part of our communities too...but we do them a differently...and better.
Next, we believe that the information in our communities should be easy to get at. We've been creating some of the most widely recognized, easy-to-use consumer software for over 15 years (products that you probably use today). We like to think we've gotten pretty good at it. Beneath our clean and inviting user interface, we've built our communities on a solid technology foundation that gives our members a robust feature set that they won't find anywhere else.
Finally, unlike the "proprietors" of many forum sites, building and maintaining enthusiast communities is all we do. This is not a hobby for us, it's our passion. If you think there's a spot we're missing, be sure to let us know, we're always on the lookout for the next enthusiast community to build. We are passionate about what we do, just like you. And, we will do whatever it takes to get it right. Spend some time at one of our spots on the web and let us know how we're doing.
Executive Team
Steve Cullen
Founder, President, and CEO (Chief Enthusiast Officer)
From its inception, Steve has been the driving force behind Mondo. With his experience in entrepreneurship, strategy development, general management, sales, marketing, and R&D, he has built Mondo from the ground up into the leading network of enthusiast communities on the web.
For the nine years prior to founding Mondo, Steve served in various capacities with Symantec Corporation, a multi-billion dollar consumer and enterprise software company. In his most recent position, he was Sr. Vice President of Symantec's Security Solutions Business Unit, leading a two billion dollar business and over one-thousand technology professionals. He was a member of Symantec's ten-person Executive Committee which oversaw all strategic decisions for the company. Steve also held positions in product management and strategic marketing early in his career at Symantec.
Before joining Symantec, Steve was director of marketing for Concur Technologies, formerly Portable Software, where he was instrumental in establishing the company as the global leader in enterprise expense management software. Prior to that, he held senior marketing and product management positions with Contact Software and Delrina Corporation, both later acquired by Symantec. From 1986 to 1991, he held senior sales, product management, and marketing positions with Micrografx, the first commercial Windows software developer. Throughout the early 1980s, Steve held retail, business-to-business, and vertical market sales and management positions at The Computer Store and Basic Computer.
Steve is an avid motorsports enthusiast and enjoys many cool toys including a Ferrari F430, #001/300 MV Agusta Corse, Ducati 749R, and a Yamaha Raptor 700R. In 2003, Steve created, sponsored, and managed an AMA Superbike team, ProMotion Racing. Under his leadership, the team took the top privateer spot at the 2004 Daytona 200 with a 4th place finish. He has attended many motorsports schools including the Bondurant Grand Prix Road Racing School, Reg Pridmore's CLASS motorcycle school, and Jason Pridmore's STAR motorcycle school.
Steve also spends quite a bit of time with his other enthusiast activities including astronomy, photography, consumer electronics, radio-controlled vehicles, home media & automation, and technology in general (you can see where we got some of the ideas for our enthusiast communities!). He also has a number of book concepts on the table as well as a motorsports television series under evaluation by major networks including Speed Channel and The Discovery Channel. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and their three unruly dogs.
Our Community Rules
By becoming a member and participating in this community you are agreeing to abide by the rules. The rules are made for the benefit of our members and to protect the best interest of the community. Please read them and understand them. If you have any questions about them feel free to ask for clarification. Vendors and commercial entities please pay special attention to the rule below regarding no posting of commercial information. While these rules cover most common situations, we cannot anticipate everything. Therefore, we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure our community is not disrupted or abused in any way.
Do...
- Show Respect. This is a place where you should feel comfortable being yourself...as long as you always act with respect for fellow members. We promise you won't have to leave your personality at the door. We promise to bring passion to our work and appreciation for our members. We will listen to your suggestions and complaints, and try to incorporate your ideas in everything we do.
- Have Confidence in Posting. If you're new to our community, taking the step for the first time to post publicly to a forum can seem intimidating. Don't be afraid to jump into a discussion. We have a very supportive community that serves up lots of support, encouragement, and enthusiasm. We love meeting new people and making new friends.
- Feel Free to "Lurk". While we hope that you'll become an active participant and join in the discussions, you're welcome to simply watch, read, and learn silently until you feel more comfortable getting involved.
- Tap into the Experts and Information. Whether you're looking for answers to a concern, have an idea you want to bounce around, or are buying something new and need advice, our members are here to help. Tell others about your experiences and they will tell you about theirs. This community is your place to get the answers you need and talk about the things that interest you most.
- Welcome Newcomers. When a new member arrives, be sure to say hello and welcome them to our growing community. Many of our community's senior members are a wealth of knowledge and have much to share. Help new members learn the ropes about how to find information and resources, save time, and how to get involved with our growing membership.
- Be Clear, Concise, and Accurate. Make the subject line appropriate for your post. Do not use ALL CAPS in your subject line or in your post. Keep your subject lines short and to the point so that members can quickly decide if they want to read more. Be careful of what you write in your post because it helps to determine how you are perceived by others. Remember members can't see you and don't know who you are so their only way to form an impression is by what and how you write. To get the credibility you deserve, it's a good idea to double check the spelling and grammar of a post before sending it. It's also a good idea to double check any facts you state in a post -- there is always someone who has enough free time to go checking on anything you post; and it can be embarrassing to be called on a factual error.
- Use Search. Often times, the information you're looking for has already been posted by another member and it most likely has plenty of responses as well. Use the search function to find what you're looking for before starting a new thread.
- Complete Your Profile. Members will be more apt to interact with you if you have a completed member profile. It shows that you are serious about being a member of the community. Be sure to keep your profile updated too.
Don't...
- Flame Members. Do not post any messages that harass, insult, threaten, or incite another member or groups of members.
- Be a Troll. Do not post messages that are not congruent with the purpose of this community. This includes creating meaningless threads with the intention of starting an argument. This also applies to profiles and signatures. Don't pretend to be someone you're not. Members can easily recognize a poser. Be yourself, members will respect you for it.
- Spam the Forums or Members. Do not double post or cross-post the same message in multiple forums. No mass Private Messaging or mass emailing members. We do not care about post quantity...it is the quality of your posts that is important in this community.
- Be Offensive. Do not create threads, posts, links, or images that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, racist, sexist, discriminatory, or otherwise in violation of local, domestic, and/or international laws. This includes copy, links, or images in your profile, avatar, or signature.
- Use Copyrighted Material. Do not post copy, images, or other media that is copyrighted. Generally, you may post a link to copyrighted material; sometimes it also requires proper credit/recognition for the copyright owner. Posting of copyrighted materials or links this community is not condoned by Mondo Brands LLC. Any materials or links posted in the community which are or appear to be in violation of a copyright will be removed without notice. Mondo Brands LLC respects the intellectual property of others and will make every effort to assure those rights are upheld. The determination of any content in question will be at the sole discretion of the administrator, moderators, or their delegates.
- Post Commercial Information. Do not post any copy, links, images, or other media that is primarily commercial in nature. This includes any of the content channels including News, Articles, Forums, Media, Reference, Marketplace, Private Messages, Chat, your signature, your profile, your avatar, and email. Commercial posts include websites, forums, communities, businesses, activities, events, or other commercial ventures with which you are affiliated. This community is sponsor supported and they are the only entities entitled to post commercial messages. If you'd like to become a sponsor you can download our Media Kit for more information.
- Post Competitive Information. Do not post links, images, or other media that is related to a competitor of this community. Posting about complimentary communities and websites is welcomed and encouraged. Repeated posts about another community or event (competitor or complimentary) will be considered Spam and dealt with accordingly.
Remedies for Rules Violations
This community is constantly monitored but we do not have the practical ability to restrict conduct or communications that might violate our rules. We also cannot guarantee immediate removal of offending content. When the administrator or moderators become aware of any violations of the above rules they will take immediate and decisive action. This typically starts with the removal of the content in violation without notice or explanation. We may also ban users without warning, explanation, or appeal at the sole discretion of the community's administrator, moderator, or their delegates. Generally, we will attempt to have a conversation with a member who has broken the rules before resorting to banning. For serious violations and/or repeat violators immediate bans may result that range from one day to permanent. We don't want to heavily patrol the community so please follow the rules and make all of our lives easier. Most importantly...have fun!
